Description

This Bacon Fried Rice recipe is a flavorful twist on traditional fried rice, combining crispy bacon, tender vegetables, and fluffy rice in a delicious one-pan dish.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients:

  • 6 slices thick-cut bacon, chopped
  • 1/2 large onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup frozen peas and carrots
  • 4 cups cooked and cooled long-grain rice (preferably day-old)
  • 3 large eggs, beaten

Sauce and Seasonings:

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 green onions, chopped

Instructions

  1. Cook Bacon: In a large skillet, cook the chopped bacon until crispy. Remove and set aside, leaving the bacon drippings in the pan.
  2. Saute Aromatics: Add diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook until softened.
  3. Add Vegetables and Rice: Stir in frozen peas and carrots, then add cooked rice. Break up any clumps and mix well.
  4. Scramble Eggs: Push the rice mixture to one side of the pan and pour beaten eggs into the empty space. Scramble until cooked through.
  5. Combine Everything: Mix the scrambled eggs into the rice mixture and add the cooked bacon back to the pan.
  6. Season and Finish: Drizzle soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil over the fried rice. Season with salt and pepper, then stir in chopped green onions before serving.
