Ingredients
Scale
Dough
- 2 cans refrigerated crescent rolls
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
Beef Filling
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 package Taco Seasoning
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Toppings and Garnish
- Shredded Lettuce, for garnish
- Guacamole, for serving
- Salsa, for serving
Instructions
- Heat the skillet: In a large skillet, heat 1 teaspoon of olive oil over medium heat to prepare for cooking the beef.
- Cook the ground beef: Add 1 pound of ground beef to the skillet along with 1 package of taco seasoning. Cook until the meat is fully browned and well combined with the seasoning. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit to ensure it reaches the right temperature for baking the taco ring.
- Prepare the crescent roll base: On an ungreased large cookie sheet, arrange the crescent dough triangles in a ring shape so that the short sides form a 6-inch circle in the center. Allow the dough triangles to overlap slightly to form a seal.
- Add the filling: Spoon the cooked ground beef mixture over the wide section of each crescent dough triangle close to the center of the ring. Then sprinkle 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the beef.
- Form the ring: Lift each triangle’s tip and fold it up over the filling, tucking it under the bottom layer of dough to keep it secured in place.
- Bake the taco ring: Place the cookie sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the crescent roll ring is golden brown and cooked through.
- Cool before slicing: Remove the taco ring from the oven and allow it to cool for about 5 minutes to set the filling and make slicing easier.
- Serve with dips: Place a bowl of guacamole and a bowl of salsa in the center of the ring, using the center space as a dipping bowl.
- Garnish: Optionally, garnish the taco ring with shredded lettuce around the edges for added freshness and texture.
Notes
- Fill the center of the taco ring with homemade guacamole and fresh salsa for added flavor.
- Use shredded lettuce as a garnish to provide a crisp texture and vibrant color.
- Ensure the crescent dough triangles overlap enough to hold the ring together while baking.
- The taco seasoning packet can be substituted with homemade taco spice mix if preferred.
- This recipe serves 8 people as an appetizer or light meal.
