Description

This Beef Taco Ring is a fun and flavorful twist on traditional tacos, featuring seasoned ground beef and melted cheddar cheese wrapped in a golden crescent roll ring. Perfect for parties or a casual family dinner, it’s served with fresh guacamole, salsa, and shredded lettuce for dipping and topping.

Ingredients

Scale

Dough

  • 2 cans refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil

Beef Filling

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 package Taco Seasoning
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Toppings and Garnish

  • Shredded Lettuce, for garnish
  • Guacamole, for serving
  • Salsa, for serving

Instructions

  1. Heat the skillet: In a large skillet, heat 1 teaspoon of olive oil over medium heat to prepare for cooking the beef.
  2. Cook the ground beef: Add 1 pound of ground beef to the skillet along with 1 package of taco seasoning. Cook until the meat is fully browned and well combined with the seasoning. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit to ensure it reaches the right temperature for baking the taco ring.
  4. Prepare the crescent roll base: On an ungreased large cookie sheet, arrange the crescent dough triangles in a ring shape so that the short sides form a 6-inch circle in the center. Allow the dough triangles to overlap slightly to form a seal.
  5. Add the filling: Spoon the cooked ground beef mixture over the wide section of each crescent dough triangle close to the center of the ring. Then sprinkle 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the beef.
  6. Form the ring: Lift each triangle’s tip and fold it up over the filling, tucking it under the bottom layer of dough to keep it secured in place.
  7. Bake the taco ring: Place the cookie sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the crescent roll ring is golden brown and cooked through.
  8. Cool before slicing: Remove the taco ring from the oven and allow it to cool for about 5 minutes to set the filling and make slicing easier.
  9. Serve with dips: Place a bowl of guacamole and a bowl of salsa in the center of the ring, using the center space as a dipping bowl.
  10. Garnish: Optionally, garnish the taco ring with shredded lettuce around the edges for added freshness and texture.

Notes

  • Fill the center of the taco ring with homemade guacamole and fresh salsa for added flavor.
  • Use shredded lettuce as a garnish to provide a crisp texture and vibrant color.
  • Ensure the crescent dough triangles overlap enough to hold the ring together while baking.
  • The taco seasoning packet can be substituted with homemade taco spice mix if preferred.
  • This recipe serves 8 people as an appetizer or light meal.
