Description

A rich and flavorful Cajun Sausage Alfredo Pasta combines creamy cheese sauce with spicy Cajun seasoning, tender smoked sausage, and crisp bell peppers tossed with penne pasta for a perfect comforting meal.

Ingredients

Scale

Pasta

  • 8 oz penne pasta

Sauce

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 ½ cups milk
  • 1 packet Tony Chachere’s Creole Alfredo Sauce Mix
  • 1 ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Main Ingredients

  • 12 oz smoked sausage, sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 tsp Tony Chachere’s More Spice Seasoning (adjust to taste)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the penne pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Sauté Sausage and Bell Pepper: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the sliced smoked sausage and cook until browned, about 5 minutes. Add the sliced bell pepper and cook until tender-crisp, about 3 minutes.
  3. Prepare Alfredo Sauce: Reduce heat to medium-low. Stir in Tony Chachere’s Creole Alfredo Sauce Mix into the skillet. Slowly pour in the milk while stirring to combine. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, stirring frequently until the sauce thickens slightly.
  4. Add Cheese and Seasoning: Stir in the shredded mozzarella cheese until melted and smooth. Add Tony Chachere’s More Spice Seasoning and adjust seasoning to taste.
  5. Combine Pasta and Sauce: Add the cooked penne pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat evenly with the sauce. Cook for an additional 2 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  6. Serve: Remove from heat and serve the Cajun Sausage Alfredo Pasta hot, garnished with extra cheese or fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

  • You can substitute penne pasta with fettuccine or rigatoni for different textures.
  • Adjust the heat level by varying the amount of Tony Chachere’s More Spice Seasoning.
  • Use whole milk or 2% milk for a creamier sauce; skim milk may result in a thinner sauce.
  • For a richer flavor, add a splash of heavy cream or grated Parmesan cheese.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
