Description
This Chicken Shawarma Wrap recipe features tender spiced chicken wrapped in lavash with garlic sauce, sumac onions, and your favorite toppings for a delicious meal.

For the Chicken:
- 3 lb chicken thighs (thinly sliced)
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp sugar
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tbsp olive oil
For the Garlic Sauce:
- 1⁄2 cup mayo
- 1⁄2 cup yogurt
- 5 cloves garlic (grated)
- 1⁄2 lemon’s juice
- 1 tbsp parsley (finely chopped)
Sumac Onions:
- 1⁄2 red onion (thinly sliced)
- 1 tbsp sumac
- 1⁄2 lemon’s juice
- 1 tbsp parsley (finely chopped)
To Assemble:
- lavash (can also use tortilla, pita or flatbread)
- garlic sauce
- harissa
- lettuce
- tomato
- pickles
- french fries
Instructions
- Marinate the Chicken: In a bowl, combine salt, pepper, cumin, coriander, paprika, onion powder, turmeric, sugar, tomato paste, and olive oil. Add chicken slices and coat well. Marinate for at least 1 hour.
- Make the Garlic Sauce: Mix mayo, yogurt, grated garlic, lemon juice, and parsley in a bowl. Refrigerate until ready to use.
- Prepare Sumac Onions: In a bowl, combine red onion, sumac, lemon juice, and parsley. Let it sit for 15 minutes.
- Cook the Chicken: Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook marinated chicken until fully cooked.
- Assemble the Wraps: Warm lavash and spread garlic sauce. Add cooked chicken, sumac onions, harissa, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and french fries. Roll up and enjoy!
Notes
- You can customize the toppings to your liking by adding more vegetables or sauces.
- For a lighter version, use grilled chicken breast instead of thighs.
