Description

Christmas Crunch is a festive and delicious treat featuring crunchy popcorn coated in smooth white chocolate, combined with salty pretzels and colorful green and red M&Ms for a perfect holiday snack or gift.

Ingredients

Scale

Popcorn

  • 1/2 cup (104g) popcorn kernels

Coating

  • 1 (12 oz) bag Vanilla Candy Melts (such as Wilton Candy Melts)

Mix-ins

  • 1 1/2 cups (75g) broken pretzel pieces or baby pretzels
  • 1 (10 oz) bag green and red Milk Chocolate or Mint M&Ms
  • Christmas sprinkles (quantity as desired)

Instructions

  1. Pop the popcorn: Heat the popcorn kernels in a popcorn maker or on the stovetop until fully popped, then transfer to a large mixing bowl, removing any unpopped kernels.
  2. Melt the candy melts: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the Vanilla Candy Melts in 30-second increments, stirring between each until smooth and fully melted.
  3. Combine popcorn and coating: Pour the melted Vanilla Candy Melts over the popcorn and stir gently to evenly coat all the popcorn pieces.
  4. Add mix-ins: Immediately add the broken pretzel pieces and green and red M&Ms to the coated popcorn, stirring gently to combine without breaking the candies.
  5. Decorate and set: Spread the mixture onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and sprinkle Christmas sprinkles over the top. Allow to cool completely at room temperature until the coating hardens and the crunch is set.
  6. Serve or store: Once set, break into clusters or pieces and serve. Store in an airtight container for up to a week to maintain freshness.

Notes

  • Use fresh popcorn kernels for the best popping results.
  • You can substitute white chocolate chips for Vanilla Candy Melts, but melting might take longer and require stirring.
  • For a gluten-free option, use gluten-free pretzels.
  • Store in an airtight container to keep the crunch crisp.
  • Feel free to customize the sprinkles and M&Ms colors to match your holiday décor.
