Description

Festive and fun Christmas Wreath Cookies made with crispy cornflakes, gooey marshmallows, and decorated with red candies to resemble holiday wreaths. These no-bake treats are perfect for holiday parties and easy to prepare with simple ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale

Base Mixture

  • 1 stick of butter (1/2 cup)
  • 30 large marshmallows
  • 6 drops green gel food coloring or 1 and 1/4 teaspoons liquid green food coloring
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 5 cups cornflakes

Decoration

  • 1 bottle of red hot candies or 1/2 cup red candy coated chocolates such as mini M&M’s
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Mold: Lightly spray a wreath-shaped cookie mold or mini bundt pan with cooking spray. This ensures the cookies will release easily after setting.
  2. Melt Butter and Marshmallows: In a large saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Add the marshmallows and stir constantly until completely melted and smooth.
  3. Add Coloring and Vanilla: Remove the pan from heat and immediately stir in green food coloring and vanilla extract until the mixture is evenly colored a vibrant green.
  4. Combine with Cornflakes: Gently fold the cornflakes into the marshmallow mixture, being careful not to crush them, until all are evenly coated.
  5. Form the Wreaths: Spoon the mixture into the prepared mold, pressing gently and firmly to shape the wreaths.
  6. Add Decorations: While still warm and sticky, press red hot candies or mini red chocolates onto the wreaths to resemble festive berries.
  7. Cool and Set: Allow the wreath cookies to cool and set at room temperature or place in the refrigerator until firm, about 30 minutes.
  8. Remove and Serve: Carefully remove the cookies from the mold and arrange on a serving platter. Enjoy your festive Christmas wreath cookies!

Notes

  • Use light cornflakes to keep the wreaths crispy and not too dense.
  • If you do not have a wreath mold, shape the cookies by hand into circles on wax paper.
  • These cookies are best eaten the same day for maximum freshness, but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
  • For a dairy-free version, substitute butter with a plant-based margarine and ensure marshmallows are vegan.
