- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for cinnamon sugar topping)
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan to prevent sticking.
- Cream Sugars and Butter: In a large bowl, beat together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
- Add Wet Ingredients: Mix in the eggs, sour cream, and vanilla extract until fully combined and the batter has a smooth consistency.
- Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, ground cinnamon, and salt.
- Mix Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined without overmixing.
- Spread Batter in Pan: Evenly spread the batter into the prepared baking pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
- Add Cinnamon Sugar Topping: In a small bowl, mix the tablespoon of cinnamon with 1/2 cup granulated sugar, then sprinkle this evenly over the top of the batter.
- Bake: Place the pan in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool: Remove from oven and allow the bars to cool completely in the pan to room temperature before frosting.
- Prepare and Apply Frosting: Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Spread evenly over the cooled bars.
