Ingredients
Scale
Turkey Breast
- 1 3-4 lb turkey breast, bone-in and skin-on
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves
Cranberry Orange Glaze
- 2 cups fresh cranberries
- 1 cup orange juice
- ½ cup honey
- 2 tablespoons orange zest
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for roasting the turkey breast evenly.
- Prepare the turkey breast: Pat the turkey breast dry with paper towels. Rub the olive oil all over the skin, then season generously with salt and pepper. Sprinkle the minced garlic, chopped rosemary, and thyme leaves onto the turkey, pressing them gently into the skin for enhanced flavor.
- Make the cranberry orange glaze: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the fresh cranberries, orange juice, honey, and orange zest. Bring to a simmer and cook until the cranberries burst and the mixture thickens into a glaze, about 10-15 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
- Roast the turkey: Place the prepared turkey breast on a roasting pan or baking dish. Roast in the preheated oven for approximately 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) measured with a meat thermometer.
- Glaze the turkey: During the last 15 minutes of roasting, brush the cranberry orange glaze generously over the turkey breast. Repeat glazing once or twice to build a flavorful, glossy finish.
- Rest the turkey: Remove the turkey from the oven and tent loosely with foil. Let it rest for 10-15 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute and the glaze to set.
- Serve: Slice the turkey breast and drizzle with any remaining glaze from the pan. Serve alongside your favorite seasonal sides.
Notes
- Use a meat thermometer to ensure the turkey reaches a safe internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- You can prepare the cranberry glaze in advance and reheat before glazing.
- For extra crispy skin, broil the turkey for the last 2-3 minutes, watching closely to avoid burning.
- Leftover glazed turkey makes great sandwiches and salads the next day.
