Description

This Crock Pot BBQ Chicken recipe is a delicious and easy way to enjoy tender and flavorful chicken. The chicken is cooked in a savory BBQ sauce with a hint of sweetness and spice.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3.5 lbs (1.5 kg) boneless skinless chicken breast
  • 2 cups BBQ sauce (I use Sweet Baby Ray’s)
  • ¼ cup (60 g) light or dark brown sugar packed
  • 2 Tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ¼½ teaspoon crushed red pepper

Instructions

  1. Prepare the chicken: Place the chicken breast in the crockpot.
  2. Mix the sauce: In a bowl, mix the BBQ sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and crushed red pepper.
  3. Cook: Pour the sauce over the chicken in the crockpot. Cook on low for 4-6 hours or high for 2-3 hours, until the chicken is cooked through.
  4. Shred and serve: Shred the chicken using two forks and serve with additional BBQ sauce if desired.

Notes

  • You can add more or less crushed red pepper depending on your spice preference.
  • This recipe works well with chicken thighs too.
