Description

Delight in these festive Easter Egg Bird Nest Cookie Cups, featuring peanut butter cookie dough baked to perfection, topped with creamy vanilla frosting, colorful sprinkles, and chocolate candy eggs. Perfect for spring celebrations and family gatherings, these no-fuss treats combine the rich flavor of Reese’s peanut butter cups with decorative Easter-themed toppings to create irresistible edible nests.

Ingredients

Scale

Cookie Cups

  • 1 package (24 count) Ready-to-Bake Reese’s Peanut Butter Cookie Dough Squares
  • 24 Mini-Reese’s Cups, unwrapped

Toppings

  • 1 (16 oz) can Store Bought Vanilla Frosting
  • Green sprinkles
  • Easter sprinkles
  • Cadbury Mini Eggs (enough for 3 eggs per cookie cup, approx. 72 eggs)

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly spray a 24-count mini-muffin pan with non-stick spray to ensure easy removal of the cookie cups.
  2. Form Cookie Dough Balls: Take each Reese’s peanut butter cookie dough square and roll it into a smooth ball. Place each ball into the individual muffin spots in the prepared pan, distributing all 24 evenly.
  3. Bake Cookie Cups: Bake the cookie dough balls in the preheated oven for approximately 12 minutes, or until they are golden brown and set around the edges.
  4. Prepare Reese’s Cups: While the cookies bake, unwrap all 24 Mini-Reese’s Cups and set them aside for easy access.
  5. Insert Reese’s Cups: Once baked, immediately remove the pan from the oven. While the cookie cups are still warm and soft, gently press one Mini-Reese’s Cup into the center of each cookie cup, creating a nest-like indentation.
  6. Cool Cookies: Allow the cookie cups to cool completely in the pan before removing them to prevent breakage or crumbling.
  7. Frost the Cookie Cups: Using a small spatula or knife, spread a generous layer of vanilla frosting on top of each cooled cookie cup, covering the peanut butter cup and surrounding areas.
  8. Add Sprinkles: Roll or sprinkle the frosted tops into green sprinkles to simulate grass, then add a few colorful Easter sprinkles on top for added festive flair.
  9. Decorate with Candy Eggs: Carefully press three Cadbury Mini Eggs into the frosting atop each cookie cup to complete the bird’s nest appearance.

Notes

  • Ready-to-bake cookie dough can be substituted with homemade peanut butter cookie dough for a from-scratch version.
  • Ensure cookies are cooled before frosting to prevent the frosting from melting.
  • Store finished cookie cups in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
  • For a festive twist, try using different colored sprinkles or various mini chocolate candies.
