- 3 1/2 tablespoons whole milk

For the doughnut holes:
- 5 cups vegetable oil, for frying
- 1 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 Tablespoons sugar
- 4 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup (½ stick) unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
- Prepare the glaze: In a bowl, whisk together confectioners’ sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Set aside.
- Make the doughnut holes: In a large bowl, mix together milk and egg. Add flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and melted butter. Mix until well combined.
- Fry the doughnut holes: Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot. Using a small cookie scoop, drop dough into the hot oil and fry until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
- Glaze the doughnut holes: Dip each doughnut hole into the glaze and place on a wire rack to set.
Notes
