Ingredients

Scale

For the Mushrooms:

  • 1 lb button or cremini mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornmeal (optional, for extra crunch)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

For the Ranch Dressing:

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill
  • 1 teaspoon parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 12 tablespoons milk (to adjust consistency)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Mushrooms: In a bowl, mix flour, cornmeal, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. In another bowl, whisk eggs and milk. Dip mushroom slices in egg mixture, then coat in flour mixture.
  2. Fry the Mushrooms: Heat oil in a pan and fry coated mushrooms until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
  3. Make the Ranch Dressing: Mix mayonnaise, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, dill, parsley, salt, pepper, and milk until well combined.
  4. Serve: Serve fried mushrooms with ranch dressing for dipping.

Notes

  • You can add different seasonings to the flour mixture for varied flavors.
  • For a lighter version, you can bake the coated mushrooms instead of frying them.
