These Greek Chicken Gyros are a delicious and healthy meal option. The marinated chicken is grilled to perfection, then topped with a homemade tzatziki sauce, fresh veggies, and feta cheese, all wrapped in warm pita bread.

For the Chicken Marinade:
- 1 lb chicken breast, thinly sliced
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
For the Tzatziki Sauce:
- 1 cup Greek yogurt
- 1/2 cucumber, grated and drained
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill (or mint)
- Salt and pepper to taste
For the Gyros:
- 4 pita bread rounds
- 1/2 cup chopped tomatoes
- 1/2 cup sliced red onions
- 1/2 cup chopped cucumber
- 1/4 cup crumbled feta cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped parsley
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken: In a bowl, combine chicken, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, oregano, cumin, salt, and pepper. Marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- Make the tzatziki sauce: In another bowl, mix Greek yogurt, cucumber, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, dill, salt, and pepper.
- Grill the chicken: Cook marinated chicken on a grill until fully cooked.
- Assemble the gyros: Warm pita bread, add grilled chicken, tzatziki sauce, tomatoes, onions, cucumber, feta cheese, and parsley. Wrap and serve.
Notes
- You can add lettuce, olives, or other veggies of your choice to the gyros.
- For a vegetarian option, you can use grilled veggies or falafel instead of chicken.
