Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 package Red Velvet Oreos (22 cookies)
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 7 oz green candy melts
  • Red heart sprinkles for decoration

Instructions

  1. Crush the Oreos: Place the Red Velvet Oreos into a large food processor and pulse until they become fine crumbs. If you do not have a food processor, place the Oreos in a zip-top bag and crush with a rolling pin until finely ground.
  2. Mix with cream cheese: Transfer the Oreo crumbs to a mixing bowl. Add the softened cream cheese and mix thoroughly until the mixture is smooth, uniform, and sticks together when pressed.
  3. Form balls: Using your hands or a small cookie scoop, shape the Oreo and cream cheese mixture into 1-inch diameter balls. Place the balls onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or wax paper.
  4. Chill the balls: Refrigerate the Oreo balls for at least 1 hour or until firm. This will help them hold their shape during coating.
  5. Melt the candy melts: While the balls are chilling, melt the green candy melts according to package instructions, either using a microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between, or by using a double boiler.
  6. Dip the balls: Using a fork or toothpick, dip each chilled Oreo ball into the melted green candy coating, ensuring it is fully covered. Gently tap off any excess coating and place the coated balls back onto the parchment-lined sheet.
  7. Decorate: Quickly sprinkle red heart sprinkles on top of each ball before the coating sets to create the Grinch-inspired look.
  8. Set and serve: Allow the coated Oreo balls to sit at room temperature or in the refrigerator until the candy coating hardens fully. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Notes

  • Make sure the cream cheese is softened to room temperature for easy mixing.
  • You can substitute green candy melts with white chocolate dyed with green food coloring if desired.
  • These treats are best eaten within 3-4 days when stored in the refrigerator.
  • For a Valentine’s Day twist, swap the red heart sprinkles for other festive decorations.
