Ingredients

Scale

Slider Ingredients

  • 1 pkg 12 count King’s Hawaiian Sweet Rolls
  • 2 cups shredded roast beef
  • 12 slices American cheese
  • 3 Tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder or garlic paste

Butter Glaze

  • 4 Tablespoons butter
  • 1 Tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon poppy seeds or sesame seeds (optional)

Garnish

  • 1/2 teaspoon parsley flakes (optional)
  • 2 Tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350℉. Prepare a 9×13 inch pan by spraying it with cooking spray or lining a baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper to make removing the sliders easier after baking.
  2. Slice Rolls: Using a serrated knife, carefully slice the King’s Hawaiian rolls horizontally so that the top half is one slab and the bottom half is another, creating a hinge to hold the fillings.
  3. Spread Garlic Mayo: In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise and garlic powder thoroughly to create a garlic mayo spread. Spread this mixture evenly over the bottom half of the rolls to add a creamy, savory base flavor.
  4. Layer Roast Beef & Cheese: Evenly distribute the shredded roast beef over the garlic mayo layer, then place the slices of American cheese on top of the beef. Close the sliders by placing the top half of the buns over the cheese and beef layers.
  5. Prepare Butter Glaze: Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl or small saucepan. Add brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard, whisking well until combined. Generously brush this flavorful mixture over the top of the buns. If using, sprinkle the poppy seeds or sesame seeds evenly on top.
  6. Bake Covered: Cover the pan tightly with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. This allows the cheese to melt and the flavors to meld.
  7. Bake Uncovered: Remove the foil and bake uncovered for an additional 5 minutes, or until the tops of the sliders turn golden brown and bubbly, enhancing their crispness and appearance.
  8. Rest and Slice: After baking, let the sliders rest for a couple of minutes. This helps keep the roast beef layers intact and ensures easier slicing. Transfer the entire batch to a cutting board and cut into 12 individual sliders.
  9. Garnish and Serve: Optionally, sprinkle parsley flakes and grated Parmesan cheese over the sliders for an added burst of flavor and a nice finishing touch. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • For ease of slicing, use a serrated knife and cut carefully to keep the slider layers intact.
  • These sliders can be assembled a few hours ahead and refrigerated before baking; just cover tightly with foil.
  • Use freshly shredded roast beef for best texture and flavor; leftover roast beef works great too.
  • Feel free to substitute American cheese with your favorite melting cheese such as cheddar or provolone.
  • If you don’t have poppy seeds or sesame seeds, you can omit them or sprinkle a pinch of paprika for color.
  • Keep sliders warm after baking by covering with foil or placing in a warming drawer if serving later.
