Description

Kashmiri Pink Chai, also known as Noon Tea, is a fragrant and flavorful tea infused with spices like star anise, cardamom, and cinnamon, giving it a unique taste. This traditional Kashmiri tea is perfect for a cozy afternoon pick-me-up.

Main Ingredients:

  • 4 cups Water
  • 2 tbsp Kashmiri/Himalayan green tea or other green tea
  • 1/2 tsp Baking soda
  • 12 Star anise
  • 2 Cardamom pods crushed
  • 1 Cinnamon stick
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 2 cups Whole milk
  • Sugar or honey to taste
  • Crushed nuts (e.g. almonds) for garnish optional

Instructions

  1. Boil Water and Tea: In a saucepan, bring water to a boil, add green tea, baking soda, star anise, cardamom, cinnamon, and salt. Boil for a few minutes.
  2. Add Milk: Pour in the milk and simmer for another 5-7 minutes.
  3. Sweeten and Serve: Add sugar or honey to taste. Strain the tea into cups, garnish with crushed nuts if desired, and serve hot.

Notes

  • You can adjust the sweetness level by adding more or less sugar depending on your preference.
  • Feel free to experiment with different nuts for garnishing, like pistachios or cashews.
