Ingredients
Scale
Main Ingredients
- 1 box of Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes (5 cakes)
- 8 ounces white chocolate or candy melts
- 3 tablespoons festive sprinkles
- 3 tablespoons red candy melts (optional, for drizzling)
- Green sanding sugar for decoration
Instructions
- Prepare the Cake Base: Remove the Christmas Tree Cakes from the box and unwrap each cake. Crumble all five cakes into a large mixing bowl, breaking them down into fine crumbs by hand or with a fork to create a uniform texture.
- Melt the White Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the 8 ounces of white chocolate or candy melts in 30-second intervals, stirring well between each session until completely smooth and creamy.
- Combine Cake Crumbs and Chocolate: Pour the melted white chocolate over the crumbled cake and mix thoroughly until the mixture is well combined and can be formed into balls without crumbling.
- Form Truffles: Using your hands, shape the mixture into small balls approximately 1 inch in diameter. Place the formed truffles on a parchment-lined tray or baking sheet.
- Chill the Truffles: Refrigerate the balls for at least 30 minutes or until firm enough to dip in chocolate without losing shape.
- Coat the Truffles: Melt additional white chocolate if needed for dipping. Dip each chilled truffle into the melted white chocolate until fully coated. Allow the excess chocolate to drip off before placing them back onto the parchment-lined surface.
- Decorate: While the coating is still wet, sprinkle festive sprinkles and green sanding sugar over the truffles. If desired, melt the 3 tablespoons of red candy melts and drizzle over the truffles for an extra decorative touch.
- Set and Serve: Let the coated truffles sit at room temperature or refrigerate until the chocolate sets completely. Once set, arrange on a plate and serve or package for gifting.
Notes
- You can substitute candy melts for the white chocolate if preferred.
- Red candy melts drizzle is optional but adds a festive contrast and flavor.
- Store truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
- For a gluten-free option, use gluten-free cake mix or mix-ins instead of the Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes.
- Be gentle when handling dipped truffles to avoid cracking the chocolate coating.
