- 1 (18.25 ounce) package chocolate cake mix
- 1 (16 ounce) can white frosting
- ¼ cup orange decorator sugar
- 1 pound black shoestring licorice
- 48 pieces candy corn
- 48 cinnamon red hot candies
Instructions
- Step 1: Bake the chocolate cake mix according to package directions to make 24 cupcakes. Let cool completely.
- Step 2: Frost each cupcake with white frosting.
- Step 3: Sprinkle orange decorator sugar over the frosting for a festive Halloween look.
- Step 4: Cut black shoestring licorice into 3-inch lengths and insert 4 pieces on each side of the cupcake to form spider legs (8 legs total).
- Step 5: Place 2 cinnamon red hot candies near the front of the cupcake for eyes.
- Step 6: Add 2 candy corn pieces to the front of each cupcake as fangs or use decoratively.
Notes
- Licorice too soft? Chill briefly to make cutting and inserting easier.
