Ingredients
Scale
Truffle Base
- 216 grams (1 package) Golden Oreos, crushed finely in a food processor
- 8-ounce block cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup finely diced fresh strawberries
- 1 teaspoon strawberry Jell-O powder (dry, not prepared)
Chocolate Coating
- 3 cups white chocolate chips
- Optional: sprinkles for topping
Instructions
- Mix the Truffle Base: In a large bowl, combine the finely crushed Golden Oreos, softened cream cheese, diced fresh strawberries, and dry strawberry Jell-O powder. Beat together thoroughly until the mixture is smooth and evenly blended for a consistent truffle batter.
- Shape the Truffles: Using a 2-tablespoon sized cookie scoop, portion the truffle batter into uniform balls. Place each ball onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
- Freeze the Truffles: Transfer the baking sheet with the truffle balls into the freezer. Chill them for a minimum of 2 hours so they firm up completely, making them easier to dip in chocolate.
- Melt the White Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the white chocolate chips. Begin by heating for 1 minute, then stir well. If not fully melted, continue heating in 30-second increments, stirring between each until the chocolate is smooth and fully melted.
- Dip the Truffles: Remove only three truffles at a time from the freezer to keep them cold and prevent melting during dipping. Using a fork, coat each truffle fully in the melted white chocolate, tap gently on the side of the bowl to remove excess, and optionally add sprinkles before placing them back onto the parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Set the Chocolate Coating: Return the dipped truffles to the freezer, allowing the white chocolate coating to harden thoroughly. Leave them in the freezer for at least 30 minutes before serving to ensure proper setting.
Notes
- Freeze your truffles before dipping them in chocolate to avoid crumbling and to achieve a smooth coating.
- Ensure the cream cheese is at room temperature before mixing for easier blending.
- Use a food processor to crush the Oreos finely for the best texture.
- Use dry Jell-O powder, not pre-made Jell-O, to maintain the correct consistency.
- Store truffles in the freezer or refrigerator to keep them firm and fresh.
