Description

These Nashville Hot Mozzarella Sticks are a spicy twist on a classic appetizer. Crispy on the outside, gooey on the inside, and packed with flavor from the hot sauce and seasonings.

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 2 teaspoons hot sauce
  • 1 1/3 cups seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 2/3 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 4 tablespoons paprika, divided
  • 2 cups vegetable oil for frying, or more as needed

Spice Mix:

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 3 tablespoons cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

Dipping Sauce:

  • ranch dressing for dipping

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cheese sticks: Cut the mozzarella into sticks, coat in flour, then dip in egg mixture and breadcrumbs.
  2. Make the spice mix: Combine garlic powder, cayenne pepper, brown sugar, and paprika in a bowl.
  3. Fry the sticks: Heat oil, fry the coated cheese sticks until golden brown.
