Perfect for parties or a flavorful snack, they combine a crunch with classic taco flavors in a convenient bite-sized form.

Ingredients

Scale

Wonton Cups

  • 24 wonton wrappers

Ground Beef Filling

  • ½ pound lean ground beef
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 1½ tablespoons mild taco seasoning

Toppings

  • 1 cup shredded fiesta blend cheese
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • ½ cup guacamole
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ½ cup pico de gallo

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare Muffin Tin: Preheat your oven to 375°F and lightly spray a regular-size muffin tin with non-stick cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  2. Shape Wonton Cups: Place one wonton wrapper into each muffin cup, pressing it firmly against the bottom and sides. Layer a second wrapper over the first and press it similarly, ensuring the wrappers fit snugly to form cups. Repeat for all cups.
  3. Bake Wonton Cups: Bake the wonton cups for 8-10 minutes, or until they turn golden brown, keeping in mind the tips of the wrappers may brown slightly more than the bottoms.
  4. Cook Ground Beef: While the wonton cups bake, place the ground beef into a medium saucepan or small nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Stir continuously, breaking up the meat until fully cooked and no pink remains.
  5. Season Meat: Reduce heat to low, stir in the taco seasoning and water, and allow the mixture to simmer for a few minutes. Then remove from heat.
  6. Assemble Taco Bites: Spoon about 1 tablespoon of seasoned taco meat into each baked wonton cup.
  7. Add Cheese: Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of shredded fiesta blend cheese evenly over the taco meat layer in each cup.
  8. Add Lettuce: Top the cheese with roughly ½ to 1 tablespoon of shredded lettuce, distributing evenly.
  9. Add Guacamole: Spoon 1 to 1½ teaspoons of guacamole onto the lettuce in each cup.
  10. Add Sour Cream: Place a 1 teaspoon dollop of sour cream in the center of the guacamole layer.
  11. Add Pico de Gallo and Serve: Finally, spoon 1 to 2 teaspoons of pico de gallo on top of the sour cream. Serve the taco bites immediately for best texture and freshness.

Notes

  • Storage: Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
  • Tip: For easy removal of the wonton cups, run a knife gently around the edge of each muffin tin cup before lifting out.
