Ingredients

Scale

Meat Mixture

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 jar (8 ounces) salsa
  • 3 tablespoons Homemade Taco Seasoning Mix (or one taco seasoning packet)
  • ¼ cup water
  • 2 cups cooked chicken, chopped or shredded

Cheese and Vegetables

  • 12 cups Mexican blend cheese, shredded
  • 35 small colorful peppers
  • 1012 cherry tomatoes, diced
  • 2 cups shredded lettuce

Condiments

  • ⅓ cup Best Guacamole Recipe
  • ⅓ cup sour cream
  • ⅓ cup taco sauce (or salsa)

Shells

  • 8 hard shells
  • 8 soft shells

Instructions

  1. Cook Ground Beef: In a skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground meat until fully cooked, then drain any excess fat if necessary. Stir in 3 tablespoons of homemade taco seasoning and ¼ cup of water until well combined, then add half of the jar of salsa to the mixture.
  2. Simmer Meat Mixture: Allow the seasoned meat mixture to simmer gently for about 10 minutes to develop flavor. During this time, prepare your toppings and get serving dishes or bowls ready.
  3. Assemble Board: Spoon the cooked meat mixture into a serving bowl and place it at the center of your serving tray. Arrange hard and soft taco shells on opposite sides of the tray for balance.
  4. Add Toppings and Condiments: Place chopped chicken, shredded cheese, colorful peppers, diced cherry tomatoes, shredded lettuce, guacamole, sour cream, and taco sauce into small bowls and arrange them around the meat and shells on the tray. Include serving utensils for convenience.
  5. Serve and Enjoy: Present the taco charcuterie board to your guests, allowing everyone to assemble their own tacos with their favorite fillings and toppings for a fun and interactive meal.

Notes

  • See blog post for timesaving tips to streamline the preparation process.
  • Use pre-cooked chicken to save time and simplify assembly.
  • For a spicier kick, add jalapeños or hot sauce among the toppings.
  • Swap sour cream for a dairy-free alternative to accommodate dietary restrictions.
  • Serve immediately after assembling to ensure freshness of ingredients and crispness of taco shells.
