Description

These Valentine’s Pink Oreo Truffles are a decadent and festive treat perfect for celebrating love. Made with golden Oreo cookies, cream cheese, and covered in a smooth vanilla candy coating tinted pink, these bite-sized delights are easy to prepare and fun to decorate with Valentine-themed sprinkles. Perfect for parties, gifts, or a sweet indulgence, they combine creamy, crunchy, and sweet flavors in every truffle.

Ingredients

Scale

Truffle Base

  • 3642 golden Oreo cookies
  • 6 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
  • 10 drops pink food coloring (from 20 drops total, divided)

Candy Coating

  • 16 ounces vanilla candy coating
  • Additional pink food coloring (approximately 10 drops, optional to adjust color)
  • Favorite Valentine sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Crush Oreo Cookies: Place 36 Oreo cookies in a food processor or smash them inside a sealed bag until you have finely crushed crumbs.
  2. Mix with Cream Cheese and Coloring: Transfer the crumbs to a mixer bowl or keep them in the food processor. Add 6 ounces of softened room temperature cream cheese and 10 drops of pink food coloring. Mix until the mixture is fully combined and smooth.
  3. Check and Form Balls: If the mixture is too thin, add more crushed Oreo crumbs to achieve a dough-like consistency. Use a small ice cream scoop, melon baller, or teaspoon to scoop uniform amounts. Roll each portion between your palms to form smooth, round balls about 1¼ inches in diameter.
  4. Freeze Truffle Balls: Place the balls on a parchment-lined cookie sheet and freeze them while you prepare the coating. This will help the truffles hold their shape during coating. You should get approximately 24 truffles.
  5. Melt Candy Coating: Break the vanilla candy coating into pieces and put in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring between each, until the coating is fully melted and smooth, approximately 1-2 minutes. You can add remaining pink food coloring drops if you want a deeper pink hue.
  6. Dip the Truffles: Using a fork or a specialized dipping tool, dip each chilled truffle into the melted candy coating. Gently tap the fork or tool against the bowl edge to remove excess coating for a smooth finish.
  7. Decorate: Place the coated truffles back on the parchment paper immediately after dipping. While the coating is still wet, sprinkle with your preferred Valentine-themed sprinkles.
  8. Repeat: Continue dipping and decorating the remaining truffles until all are coated and decorated.
  9. Chill to Set: Refrigerate the tray of truffles for at least 15 minutes until the candy coating is firm and set.
  10. Serve: Remove from refrigerator and serve the truffles at room temperature for the best taste and texture. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Storage: Keep Oreo balls refrigerated until serving. They are best enjoyed cold but can safely remain at room temperature for up to 2 hours due to the cream cheese content.
  • Refrigeration: Store leftover truffles in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days to maintain freshness.
  • Freezing: Freeze the truffles for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator before serving to preserve texture and flavor.
