Description

This White Chocolate Trash Snack Mix is a delightful and addictive combination of crunchy cereals, salty pretzels, roasted peanuts, colorful M&M’s candies, all coated in smooth white chocolate. Perfect for parties, holiday treats, or anytime snacking, this mix offers a satisfying blend of sweet and salty flavors with a creamy white chocolate twist.

Ingredients

Scale

Snack Mix

  • 2 cups Corn CHEX cereal
  • 2 cups Cheerios cereal
  • 2 cups mini pretzel twists
  • 1 cup dry roasted salted peanuts
  • 2 cups regular M&M’s candies

Additional Ingredients

  • ½ cup regular M&M’s candies (for garnish)
  • 24 ounces vanilla almond bark candy coating

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Snack Mix: In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups Corn CHEX cereal, 2 cups Cheerios cereal, 2 cups mini pretzel twists, 1 cup dry roasted salted peanuts, and 2 cups regular M&M’s candies. Gently mix them together to evenly distribute all ingredients.
  2. Melt the Candy Coating: In a microwave-safe bowl, break the 24 ounces of vanilla almond bark candy coating into pieces. Heat in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each interval, until the coating is completely melted and smooth.
  3. Combine Coating with Snack Mix: Pour the melted vanilla almond bark over the combined snack mix. Using a large spatula or wooden spoon, gently fold the mixture until all the ingredients are evenly coated with the white chocolate.
  4. Spread and Garnish: Transfer the coated snack mix onto a large baking sheet lined with wax paper or parchment paper, spreading it out into an even layer. Sprinkle up to ½ cup of M&M’s candies over the top as a colorful garnish, pressing them lightly into the mixture so they stick.
  5. Allow to Set: Let the snack mix sit at room temperature or place in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to allow the white chocolate coating to harden completely.
  6. Break into Pieces and Serve: Once set, break the mixture into bite-sized clusters for easy snacking. Store the snack mix in an airtight container to keep it fresh.

Notes

  • For best results, ensure the candy coating does not overheat to prevent burning.
  • Feel free to substitute or add your favorite nuts or candies to customize the mix.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week or refrigerate for longer shelf life.
  • This snack mix can be made ahead and is perfect for gifting during holidays.
