Description

A refreshing and tropical Colombian Limonada de Coco, this coconut limeade recipe combines creamy coconut puree, zesty lime juice, and smooth condensed coconut milk for a uniquely delicious and revitalizing beverage. Perfectly chilled and optionally garnished with fresh mint or shredded coconut, this 5-ingredient drink is quick to prepare and versatile enough to be enjoyed frozen or with a splash of rum.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 300 grams Coconut Puree (3 packets)
  • 3.5 cups Filtered Water
  • 0.5 cup Condensed Coconut Milk
  • 4 whole Limes, juiced
  • 1 cup Ice

Optional Garnishes

  • 4 Fresh Mint Leaves
  • Shredded Coconut

Instructions

  1. Blend Key Ingredients: In a blender, combine one packet of coconut puree with the freshly squeezed juice of one lime for each cup of limeade you want to prepare. This creates the base flavor of the drink.
  2. Add Liquids and Blend: Add the condensed coconut milk and filtered water to the blender. Blend all the ingredients for 5-7 seconds to fully incorporate and create a smooth limeade.
  3. Enhance Coconut Flavor: For extra coconut richness, toss in some shredded coconut into the blender and pulse briefly to mix, or sprinkle on top when serving.
  4. Customize with Ice: For a frozen or chilled version, add 2-3 ice cubes per serving into the blender or pour the limeade over ice cubes in your glass. Adjust the amount of ice based on how icy you prefer your drink.
  5. Serve and Garnish: Pour the prepared coconut limeade into glasses over ice and garnish each with a sprig of fresh mint or a lime wedge for a vibrant presentation and aroma.

Notes

  • You can substitute coconut puree with coconut milk in recipes, but the puree provides a fresher, lighter flavor.
  • Condensed coconut milk adds sweetness and enhances the coconut flavor better than plain sugar.
  • To turn this into an alcoholic cocktail, add 1/4 shot (approximately 1/2 teaspoon) of coconut rum or light rum per cup of limeade.
  • Store leftover limeade in a lock lid jar or airtight mason jar in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
  • This recipe is ideal for making ahead of parties or gatherings and serves 4 people.
