Description

Delight your guests with these Blueberry Brie Jalapeño Poppers—an irresistible appetizer combining the creamy richness of melted brie, the spicy kick of jalapeños, and the sweet burst of blueberry preserves. Perfectly baked for a warm, gooey bite accented by honey, nuts, and fresh herbs, these poppers balance heat and sweetness beautifully for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

Jalapeños

  • 10 to 12 jalapeños, halved lengthwise and seeded

Filling

  • 6 to 8 ounces brie cheese, cut into small cubes
  • 1/3 cup blueberry preserves or fresh blueberries
  • 1 tablespoon honey

Optional Toppings

  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped walnuts or pecans
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • Fresh thyme or parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare Baking Sheet: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and facilitate easy cleanup.
  2. Prepare Jalapeños: Slice each jalapeño in half lengthwise and carefully remove the seeds to reduce heat, leaving a few seeds if you prefer a spicier bite.
  3. Arrange and Fill: Arrange the jalapeño halves cut-side up on the baking sheet. Place a cube of brie cheese in the cavity of each jalapeño half.
  4. Add Blueberry Topping: Spoon a small amount of blueberry preserves or a few fresh blueberries on top of each brie-filled jalapeño for a sweet contrast.
  5. Drizzle and Season: Lightly drizzle honey over each popper, then sprinkle with chopped nuts, lemon zest, and a pinch of sea salt if using, to enhance flavor and texture.
  6. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes until the jalapeños soften slightly and the brie melts into a creamy center.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven, garnish with freshly chopped thyme or parsley if desired, and serve warm for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • Adjust spice level by leaving some jalapeño seeds: more seeds for extra heat, fewer for mild flavor.
  • Use extra brie for a creamier, richer texture.
  • Feel free to substitute the nuts or omit them for a nut-free version.
  • These poppers are best served fresh and warm for optimal flavor and texture.
