Ingredients
Scale
Crescent Dough
- 1 can (226 g) refrigerated crescent roll dough
Crab Filling
- 240 g cooked crab meat, chopped (fresh, canned, or imitation)
- 115 g cream cheese, softened
- 2 tablespoons (30 g) mayonnaise
- 2 green onions, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon (4 g) Old Bay seasoning or seafood seasoning
- 56 g shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Garnish (Optional)
- Chopped parsley or paprika
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure even baking.
- Prepare the crab mixture: In a medium bowl, combine softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, chopped crab meat, finely chopped green onions, Old Bay seasoning, shredded cheese, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated and the mixture is creamy and evenly blended.
- Assemble the crescents: Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into individual triangles. Place about 1 tablespoon of the crab filling at the wide end of each triangle. Carefully roll each triangle from the wide end towards the narrow tip to form crescent shapes with the filling enclosed inside.
- Bake the bites: Arrange the filled crescents on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the crescents are golden brown and cooked through.
- Garnish and serve: Once baked, let the crab crescent bites cool slightly. If desired, sprinkle with chopped parsley or paprika for added color and flavor before serving them warm as a delightful appetizer.
Notes
- Use fresh or canned crab meat based on availability; imitation crab can be a budget-friendly alternative.
- For extra depth of flavor, add a small amount of minced garlic or a dash of hot sauce to the crab mixture.
- Ensure cream cheese is at room temperature for easier mixing.
- These bites can be made ahead and baked just before serving for convenience.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container and reheat in the oven to maintain crispiness.
