It’s an easy and delicious dinner option with a crunchy, savory crust and juicy meat inside, perfect for a weeknight meal or casual dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

Pork Chops

  • 4 boneless pork chops, about 1 inch thick

Topping & Seasonings

  • 3 tablespoons olive oil, divided
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • ⅓ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • ⅓ cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon dried thyme
  • ¼ teaspoon dried oregano
  • Pinch red pepper flakes

Garnish

  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat & Prep: Preheat your oven to 400°F. Lightly grease a baking dish or line a sheet pan for easy cleanup. For better air circulation and crispiness, you can also use a baking rack lightly sprayed with oil.
  2. Mix the Topping: In a small bowl, combine grated parmesan, panko breadcrumbs, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, dried thyme, dried oregano, and red pepper flakes. Stir well to blend all the flavors.
  3. Prepare the Pork Chops: Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels. Rub both sides evenly with 2 tablespoons of olive oil to help the seasoning adhere and keep the meat moist while baking.
  4. Coat with Seasoned Topping: Dip each pork chop into the parmesan and breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to coat all sides so the crust sticks well.
  5. Bake: Arrange the coated pork chops on the prepared baking sheet or rack. Drizzle or spray 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil evenly over the tops of the pork chops to enhance crispiness. Bake in the preheated oven for 18-22 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F and the crust is golden brown.
  6. Rest and Serve: Remove from oven and let the pork chops rest for about 5 minutes to allow juices to redistribute. Sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley before serving if desired.

Notes

  • Ensure pork chops are about 1 inch thick for even cooking.
  • Using a baking rack improves air circulation and helps create a crispier crust.
  • Use a meat thermometer to check that the internal temperature reaches 145°F for food safety and optimal juiciness.
  • Resting the meat after baking keeps it tender and juicy.
  • You can omit red pepper flakes for a milder flavor or add more if you prefer spicier chops.
