Ingredients

Scale

Pork Chops

  • 15 oz (425g) center cut boneless pork chops (3 pork chops)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon chopped Italian parsley, for garnishing

Honey Sauce

  • 2 1/2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons warm water
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • 3 dashes cayenne pepper

Instructions

  1. Season the pork chops: Season both sides of the boneless pork chops thoroughly with salt and ground black pepper to enhance the natural flavor of the meat.
  2. Prepare the honey sauce: In a small bowl, combine honey, warm water, salt, apple cider vinegar, and cayenne pepper. Stir well to fully blend all the ingredients and set aside.
  3. Heat the skillet: Place a cast-iron skillet on high heat until very hot. Add the vegetable oil and 1 tablespoon of melted butter to the pan.
  4. Pan-fry the pork chops: Lay the pork chops in the skillet without crowding. Cook each side undisturbed for 3-4 minutes to develop a golden-brown crust. Flip carefully and cook the other side the same way.
  5. Sauté garlic and add sauce: Push the pork chops to one side of the pan. Add the remaining butter to the empty space. When melted, add minced garlic and sauté for about 10 seconds until it just begins to turn light brown.
  6. Glaze the pork chops: Pour the prepared honey garlic sauce into the skillet. Stir occasionally and cook the sauce until it thickens and deepens to a rich amber brown.
  7. Finish and serve: Spoon the thickened honey garlic sauce generously over the pork chops. Turn off the heat, garnish with chopped Italian parsley, and serve immediately for best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • Use a cast-iron skillet for best crust and even heat distribution.
  • Do not move the pork chops during frying to ensure a good sear.
  • Adjust cayenne pepper amount to control the spice level.
  • Rest the pork chops briefly before serving if desired for even juiciness.
  • This recipe is best served fresh and hot.
