Description

This One Pan Honey Garlic Kielbasa and Veggies recipe is a delicious and easy-to-make meal featuring smoky Polish-style kielbasa sausage roasted with tender baby potatoes, crunchy broccoli, sweet red bell pepper, and red onion. Tossed in a flavorful honey garlic sauce and roasted to perfection, this dish is perfect for a quick weeknight dinner that requires minimal cleanup.

Ingredients

Scale

Sausage and Vegetables

  • 1 lb kielbasa sausage, sliced into 1/2-inch pieces (smoked Polish-style recommended)
  • 1 lb baby potatoes, halved or quartered into roughly 1-inch pieces
  • 1 head broccoli, cut into medium florets
  • 1 red bell pepper, chopped into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 red onion, cut into wedges
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (for tossing vegetables)

Honey Garlic Sauce

  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 cloves garlic, freshly minced
  • 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) to prepare for roasting the ingredients evenly.
  2. Prepare Vegetables and Sausage: In a large bowl, combine the sliced kielbasa, halved baby potatoes, broccoli florets, chopped red bell pepper, and red onion wedges. Drizzle with 2 tablespoons of olive oil and toss well to coat all pieces evenly. Spread the mixture in a single layer on a large baking sheet, ensuring not to overcrowd for proper roasting and even cooking; keep potato pieces no larger than 1 inch for uniform tenderness.
  3. Initial Roasting: Roast the baking sheet in the oven for 20 to 25 minutes, until the potatoes are fork-tender and the kielbasa pieces have lightly browned edges. The broccoli should be tender with slightly crisped tips. Check potatoes with a fork around the 20-minute mark, especially if larger pieces are used.
  4. Make the Honey Garlic Sauce: While the veggies and sausage roast, whisk together honey, freshly minced garlic, low-sodium soy sauce, 1 tablespoon olive oil, dried oregano, black pepper, and salt in a small bowl until fully combined to create a sweet and savory glaze.
  5. Coat with Sauce: Remove the baking sheet from the oven and drizzle the honey garlic sauce evenly over the roasted ingredients. Gently toss everything together to ensure all pieces are coated with the flavorful sauce.
  6. Final Roasting: Return the pan to the oven and roast for another 5 to 10 minutes, allowing the sauce to bubble and caramelize slightly. For extra caramelization, you may switch the oven to broil on high for the last 1 to 2 minutes, but watch closely to prevent the garlic from burning.
  7. Serve: Remove the pan from the oven and serve the dish immediately. Optionally, garnish with fresh parsley or sesame seeds for added color and flavor.

Notes

  • Cut vegetables into similar-sized pieces to ensure even cooking throughout.
  • You can substitute vegetables like Brussels sprouts, carrots, or zucchini according to preference or seasonality.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days; this dish is not recommended for freezing.
  • Reheat leftovers in a skillet over medium heat or in the oven at 350 degrees F to retain texture and flavor.
